I was thinking of Minecraft, because the word "mine" reminds people that it's about their own mind. Sort of how YouTube was meant to be about "you", the average user.
Mindcraft Software (or simply Mindcraft) was an American video game developer, founded in 1989 by Ali Atabek. It is best recognized for the award-winning The Magic Candle series.
On the tv series- I don't think censorship is a long-term solution either, but I hope that it will buy people time to come up with content on their own.
I think that a good movie should start with a conversation with the community, and clearly that hasn't happened. Making a good movie for the DID/OSDD community is controversial in of itself, which just goes to show how delicate the situation is.
While I haven't argued this point much, we really can't ignore the OSDD/DID community and broader plural community. The individual systems either genuinely have those disorders or happen to be tulpamancers with mental health conditions and bad mindsets. I don't think the community will heal until we can get more honest light on the situation and talking about plurality is no longer a misunderstood topic.
I think giving time for content to come out of the tulpa community like the Stanford Study and good interview attempts like Anthony Padilla's interview will help balance the narrative. That tv series may have a different presentation to the public if something big and honest comes out about the OSDD/DID community.
I think bringing up the conversation has been a good place to start. I mentioned this in lots of places and it was really nice to see the discussions that came about.

On critical thinking- I have a draft for that...

On tulpamancy 2.0- If you make tulpamancy hip, the target audience may slide down.(edited)
Before, someone brought up the "Art of the Mind Doll/Tulpa" stuff being sold on the internet. I happened to receive access to these files and will share my thoughts on the matter.
The long and the short of it is that it doesn't contain anything resembling tulpamancy. The original title was a better working title, because it more accurately described what was being created and used.
The meat of these files is a large amount hypnosis videos, alongside a smattering of self help ideas, and a "guide" which is essentially a primer for hypnosis - It doesn't deal with anything involved in tulpamancy, it is simply a guide on how to achieve hypnotic states, and cause hallucination.
It's clear that was is being generated here is a hallucinatory experience, rather than any sort of identity intended to even be interacted with outside of hypnosis.
I have access to 35 hypnosis files in total, and they are not geared toward actually creating some sort of thoughtform identity - They are geared toward learning hypnosis, achieving depth and relaxation in hypnosis, creating triggers for hypnosis, and creating specific experiences with hypnosis. The end-game files here are essentially hands-free O hypnosis videos, and that is what is being marketed as a tulpa here, I think.(edited)
Naturally this makes a lot of the speculation about it previously completely moot. I would still say this kind of price tag to learn hypnosis is hilariously over-the-top, since you can actually get free courses in hypnosis online. And I have a number of problems with how it is being presented that doesn't vibe.
I could have bought the notion, for instance, that people need to get their shit together mentally before they should practice tulpamancy. But there is no such barrier between practice and hallucination. Suggestibility and mental health really don't correlate in that way according to any real data I've seen. There might actually be evidence to suggest the inverse is true.
All of this is also clearly wrapped up in metaphysical thinking as well, by the way. There is reference to quantum healing and so on put throughout here, and the innate "power" of the mind to completely literally change the world.

As a matter of fact, the idea of making people feel good first and therefore think they can now "do hypnosis" is... actually itself classic hypnotic suggestion. It's just being done twice and they're not telling their customers it's being done.(edited)
Thank you Zen for spending a $1000 so we don’t have to!
I wonder how deep the author even went into tulpamancy. Based on what you said it seems to me they licked the surface and thought ”Oh I can do that with my current techniques”, but without understanding of what’s the desired outcome for tulpamancers?
It was shared with me, that would be the most expensive review of a bunch of hypnosis videos ever, given that I neither need it for hypnosis or tulpamancy.
You might call it oversharing, but my inner world consists of one cabin, a foggy lake you'd definitively not want to swim, a crashed airship and a completely ruined castle thing surrounded by some impaled, already skeletonised characters i dont even know - humans, vampires and robots alike lol.
I wish my innerworld was a much nicer place ngl.

I was hoping you had an answer for that. Something like „because I want to be happier”, or „because I don’t want it to be like this”.
If there was any answer, the next question would be „What would you lose if your inner world changed for the better?”, because maybe there are more benefits for you from having it the way it is.
But since the response was a shrug, I would ask, do you feel you deserve it to be better?
It's possible you just don't know how to imagine something nicer? Go online and look for places until you see one that looks really really nice and copy it?
